RISE Method
R – Recognize
Notice what's happening within you. Become aware of your thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and nervous system without judgment.
You can't work with what you don't notice.
I – Inquire
Get curious instead of critical.
Rather than asking "What's wrong with me?" ask:
What am I feeling?
What is this emotion trying to tell me?
What need or value is underneath it?
What part of me is speaking?
This is where emotional fluency begins.
S – Shift
Shift from self-judgment to self-compassion,
from reacting to responding.
This is the stage where clients learn to:
-
regulate their nervous system
-
meet themselves with kindness instead of criticism
-
set boundaries
-
challenge thinking traps without fighting their thoughts
-
communicate authentically
-
Respond intentionally rather than react automatically
-
choose values-based action
This is where insight becomes action.
E – Embody
Practice until it becomes who you are.
This isn't about perfection. It's about building a new
relationship with yourself.
Clients leave with:
self-trust
self-compassion
confidence
resilience
emotional fluency
This is where the change becomes lasting.
